Tips:
Use old-fashioned oats for the best texture. Quick oats will work in a pinch, but they tend to make the cookies a bit more crumbly.
Feel free to mix in any of your favorite add-ins, such as nuts, dried fruit, or even a handful of shredded coconut.
To ensure that your cookies turn out perfectly chewy, be sure to measure your ingredients accurately and use room temperature butter.
If you like your cookies on the softer side, be sure to remove them from the oven when they are still a little underdone. They will continue to cook as they cool on the baking sheet.
These cookies are a great make-ahead breakfast option. Simply bake the cookies and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for up to a week.
We hope you enjoy these oatmeal breakfast chocolate chip cookies as much as we do!
